Scottish Dancing 101
Tip No.1
Find a confident partner!
Even if you don’t know a particular dance, many dances are easy enough that you only need a confident partnet to guide you!
Tip No.2
Be a man (or woman)!
It is not required to dance with someone of the opposite sex! There’s very little difference in terms of choreography. However, to better distinguish “roles” we provide sashes that people can wear.

Watch the Instructional Videos!
There’s a lot to learn before any of our events! If you have spare time, we have videos of each dance here along with written instructions.
Tip No.4
Know your comfort level!
On the night of our events, don’t aim to do a more difficult dance just because you feel like you have to participate in every dance! Grab a drink and spectate!
